Dental Crowns & Gold Teeth

A dental crown, also called a dental cap, is a type of dental restoration which completely covers a tooth. A few reasons to choose dental crowns are if you have broken, cracked, or decayed teeth that can no longer be restored using bonding or fillings. A crown can often extend the life of an existing tooth.

You would also need a dental crown after having had an implant placed (this is called restoring the implant).

Dental crowns can correct the color, shape and size of a tooth. They can be made from metal, gold, porcelain, zirconia, and porcelain fused to metal which will be custom designed to match your smile.

You can choose from:

  • Metal: Metal crowns are extremely durable. Because they are metal, they do not blend in with your existing teeth. People choose metal if they are budget conscience patients or are people who are primarily concerned with the strength of their crowns, particularly in their molar areas because those teeth are seldom visible and do a lot of the chewing.

  • Porcelain fused to metal: These crowns have a metal base for durability and they are covered in porcelain to blend in with your teeth.

  • Full porcelain: Porcelain crowns have become popular, because they closely match your natural teeth as far as color and shine. Porcelain comes in a wide range of shades, and you can choose the color that most closely matches your smile.

  • Zirconia: Zirconia is a material that offers the durability of metal and the life-like appearance of porcelain. In addition, Zirconia is slightly opaque, meaning your crown will reflect light much like your natural teeth.

  • Gold: We make gold teeth for the front teeth and for molars. We can use pure gold, gold mixed with metal for a bit more durability, or gold covered in porcelain.

All of our dental crowns are made of safe materials that are made in the USA. We’ll help you discover the best smile restoration plan for you.
